School: California State University, Long Beach Undergraduate
About me: I’m currently studying journalism at California State University, Long Beach. I moved to Long Beach in December 2010 to attend school and fell in love with the diversity and culture in the city. I first picked up a camera (an Olympus E-500) in 2006 while I was in the Marine Corps. On that first day taking pictures, I fell in love with the idea of letting other people look at the world through my eyes. Once I left the service, I decided I would enjoy life much, much more by carrying a camera instead of a rifle. Ever since then, I’ve dedicated myself to pursuing the profession of journalism, working to perfect my skills in photography, writing, multimedia and editing. Telling stories through text, photography and other media excites me, and I find a type of peace in reporting and shooting.
