TCM Classic Short Film Award

Turner Classic Movies and CMF challenge you to create a film that re-imagines a scene from a classic movie. Enter CMF and become eligible for the TCM Classic Short Film Award and the chance to have your movie featured on campus and on TCM.com.

Turner Classic Movies is dedicated to bringing unforgettable movies to the next generation of filmmakers. These films provide inspiration for artists everywhere and TCM and CMF offer you the opportunity to express your creativity and pay tribute to these great films.

Check out some re-imagined classics from Atlanta schools

1. Choose a scene from a classic movie.

2. Consider ways to update or bring a new twist to the story— what if Ilsa had stayed with Rick at the end of Casablanca? What if Norman Bates (Psycho) ran a boutique hotel in New York City?

3. Feel free to change the setting, time period, tone, mood, or narrative point of view- the more unique the perspective, the better. You can rework the original script but please don't copy it verbatim.

4. Please don’t use audio/dialogue from the original film—use your own original music or music affiliated with CMF.

When entering your submission, tell us why you chose the scene and how your re-imagined it. Films will be judged for: production values (i.e. sound, lighting), originality of the concept, and how well your entry re-interprets the classic film you chose.
