| Jango Monkey plays crafty original song-focused jam rock in the classic style of Phish and moe., with tinges of Pink Floyd, Beck, and Beatles thrown in. Musically the emphasis is on songwriting, complete with lyrics, hooks, and actual melody but with room for open improvisational jams. The lineup consists of 2 guitarists, bass /synth player, drummer, and percussionist/vibes player. |
 |
A Jango Monkey live show typically may last 3+ hours (2 sets) and focuses on tight songs, interesting jams with the occasional dual guitar lead sections, percussive/vibes jams, and tasty synth weirdness. The band often includes covers by Phish, Widespread Panic, moe., Dead, Beck, Zevon, Neil Young, Traffic, Stones, etc. |
