Fast Facts

•  Campus MovieFest, currently in its seventh year, was founded by Emory University graduates.  Four friends started the program as an Emory program providing students all the equipment they needed to share their stories in short movies with fellow students.  The program has grown to reach over 100,000 students around the globe, firmly establishing CMF as the world’s largest student film festival.

• CMF has partnered with AT&T to give students a chance to experience the latest mobile technologies. Students can integrate cool uses of mobile phones in their movies for chances at bonus prizes, and see their winning movies on CV, AT&T's mobile video platform.

•  Since its creation, Campus MovieFest has given away over $500,000 worth of prizes including Apple iPods, airplane tickets, mobile phones, Apple computers, cash and scholarships, and much more.

• Campus MovieFest has partnered with several Fortune 500 companies and other amazing organizations dedicated to helping students share their stories by offering the filmmaking event to participants at no cost.  The list of partners partners has included AT&T, Apple, Virgin America, OurStage, Delta Air Lines, Coca-Cola, The History Channel, Virgin Mobile, mtvU, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) and TBS.

•  So far, CMF participants have filmed over half a million minutes of video footage.

•  Students have used thousands of Apple laptops and digital camcorders to create their five-minute short films for CMF events.

•  Campus MovieFest is hailed as a signature event by a number of participating schools.  The event is lauded for its ability to draw together and empower crowds of students from diverse backgrounds, uniting to share their stories with the world.  

•  CMF has earned national acclaim for its ability to enhance student life and classroom curriculum as well as increasing students’ technological capabilities.

• Campus MovieFest provides music from independent artists for use in the films, freeing students to share their short movies and exposing audiences across the globe to some of the best up and coming musicians.  CMF’s collection includes over 3.4 days’ worth of music.

• Students and their friends have the opportunity to create their own music for the films, gaining local exposure at CMF events and internationally online.

•  Over 15 million people have watched CMF movies online, including at www.campusmoviefest.com – making it one of the most attended film festival web destinations. 

• All CMF movies are available on the festival’s website, providing the world with easy access to the best in student short films.

•  Campus MovieFest is running a 35 event World Tour in 2007 - 2008, enabling over 50,000 students to create short movies using the latest technology in just one week.
