2011 IGF Awards Ceremony - Special Guests


The 2011 International Grand Finale awards ceremony at the Steven J. Ross theater was a star-studded affair with special guest presenters to honor the student filmmakers who traveled from across the globe to celebrate their films. Big thanks to the following guest presenters for showing their support of the next generation of filmmakers.

Jeff Goldblum

Special Guest
Comedian/Actor Jeff Goldblum kicked off the awards ceremony with a few opening remarks. Jeff’s long prolific career includes The Fly, Jurassic Park franchise, Indpendence Day, and most recently Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Elizabeth Banks

Best Picture
One of Hollywood’s most sought after film and television actresses, Elizabeth is well known for her roles in comedies such as “40-Year Old Virgin,” “Role Models,” and her reoccurring role in “30 Rock.” She will next be seen starring in “Our Idiot Brother” with Paul Rudd and recently signed on to play ‘Effie Trinket’ in “The Hunger Games.”

John Cho

Best Drama
Well known from the cult comedy “Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle,” he was also seen starring in J.J. Abrams’s “Star Trek” as Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu, and in dozens of others of your feature films and tv shows. He’ll revitalize his role as Harold Lee this fall in A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas.

Jack McBrayer

Best Comedy
Jack has appeared in comedy films “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Talladega Nights,” but he’s probably best known for his character ‘Kenneth’ from the Emmy Award Winning comedy series “30 Rock”.

Gabourey Sidibe

Elfenworks Social Justice Awards
For her role as ‘Precious,’ Gabourey received an Academy Award® and Golden Globe® nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She can now be seen in the Golden Globe® nominated Showtime comedic series "The Big C" opposite Laura Linney.

David Arquette

CMF 3D Festival
Most known for his role as Deputy “Dewey” Riley in the “Scream” franchise including the recent “Scream 4.” In January 2003, Arquette formed a production company, Coquette Productions, with Courteney Cox. Through their company, Arquette wrote and produced his directorial debut, “The Tripper,” and “The Butlers In Love,” (a 3D short film), which he serves as executive producer and director. Also under the Coquette banner, Arquette produced the FX drama, DIRT and ABC’s “Cougar Town.” Up next, Arquette will direct the 3D psychological thriller GLUTTON for Remember Dreaming Productions and will executive produce through Coquette.

Max Minghella

Rethink Possible Award
Max was seen in on the big screen in David Fincher’s Oscar Winning Facebook saga “The Social Network.” His upcoming work includes The Ides of March starring along side Clooney, Marisa Tomei, Ryan Gosling and Evan Rachel Wood, as well as co-starring in “The Darkest Hour” with Emile Hersch.

Kate Mara

Rethink Possible Award
Kate starred opposite James Franco in 2010’s Academy Award nominated film “127 Hours,” and opposite Josh Radnor in 2009’s “Happy Thank You More Please.” She’s currently shooting “Blackbird” opposite Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde, and Sissy Spacek.

Rob Corddry

GTA Best Directing
Making his debut on “The Daily Show with John Stewart,” Rob quickly became one of the most popular correspondents to emerge from the groundbreaking talk show. Creator, writer, and director of the series “Children’s Hospital,” he also starred in last years time traveling hit, “Hot Tub Time Machine.”

Chris Parnell

GTA Best Story
Chris is a Saturday Night Life regular, starring in numerous SNL Digital Shorts with Andy Samburg including Lazy Sunday, and many more. He can be seen next year in the much-anticipated remake of the action flick “21 Jump Street” alongside Johnny Depp.

Missi Pyle

GTA Best Editing
Missi is an accomplished film, television, and theater actress whose credits include “Galaxy Quest,” “Big Fish,” and “Dodgeball,”

Derek Waters

GTA Best Editing
Derek has recently been seen in “Hall Pass” and he’s the creator of “Drunk History,” one of the highest viewed series on “Funny or Die” based on asking intoxicated friends about history – re-enacted by actors and comediens such as Jack Black, Michael Cera, John C. Reilly, and many more.

TJ Miller

GTA for Best Actor
Improv, sketch, and stand-up comedian, T.J. was last seen in 2010’s “Yogi Bear” and “She’s Outa My League” alongside Jay Baruchel and Alice Eve. He made his film debut in J.J. Abrams Cloverfield

James Remar

Poo Industries Lifetime Achievement Award
James has appeared or starred in over 50 feature films and currently shows up in this summer’s box office hit, “X-Men 1st Class.” Well known as Richard Wright in “Sex and the City” and Harry in Showtime’s hit Dexter.”

Alice Eve

GTA Best Actress
Alice is currently shooting the final episodes of the HBO series “Entourage.” She last starred in the DreamWorks comedy “She’s Out of My League” opposite Jay Baruchel.

Wes Bentley

GTA Best Cinematography
Starring in critically acclaimed film “American Beauty,” he has also appeared in “The Four Feathers” and “Jonah Hex”. He can next be seen in “Hunger Games” alongside Woody Harrelson and Elizabeth Banks.

Colin Ford

GTA Best Soudtrack
In a highly-competitive environment for this coveted role, Colin was cast as Matt Damon's angst-ridden son, "Dylan", in Cameron Crowe's upcoming “We Bought a Zoo.” Colin starred opposite Sissy Spacek in the independent feature “Lake City,” and opposite Ray Liotta in the indie film, “Ticket Out.” He has also appeared on such television shows as “Supernatural,” “CSI,” and “HAWAII 5-0.”

Scott Porter

GTA Best Soundtrack
Scott made his breakthrough role as the character Jason Street on NBC’s football drama “Friday Night Lights.” He’s also a series regular on “The Good Wife,” and will be seen in the feature film “Ten Year,” opposite Kate Mara, Channing Tatum, and Rosario Dawson
