Campus MovieFest (CMF) is thrilled to welcome you to the Western Regional Grand Finale of the world's largest student film and music festival. The unforgettable events in San Francisco on Saturday and Sunday, November 15 and 16, feature the top short CMF movies from around the West Coast, special industry guests, networking opportunities, prizes, and very special awards. Plus, this year brings the first Campus MusicFest showcase of top student bands from around the Bay Area at the CMF Opening Celebration.

Campus MovieFest Western Grand Finale

The Campus MovieFest Western Grand Finale is your chance to see the best of the best, held at the famed Regency Center Grand Ballroom on Sunday, November 16. Doors open at 7:00pm and the show begins at 8pm for this black-tie optional red carpet event. The evening features 12 of the top movies, selected by a regional panel of judges, with one movie selected by audience choice voting earlier in the day. The evening will feature huge door prizes, special presenters, and the presentation of the exclusive CMF Golden Tripod Awards.

CMF Opening Celebration and Campus MusicFest Showcase

Join us for the kick-off of the CMF Western Regional Grand Finale featuring a chance for the filmmakers and musicians to meet each other and the community at the historic Great American Music Hall. Beginning at 8pm on Saturday, November 15, the night will feature the Campus MusicFest Showcase of the top student bands in the area, special bonus awards for Campus MovieFest participants, a Guitar Hero® III Mobile Showdown, door prizes, and a chance for all to relax and have some fun.

Western Grand Finale Screenings @ Sundance Cinemas

The top 64+ movies selected from the participating colleges and universities will be showcased at the renowned Sundance Cinemas Kabuki in five screenings on Sunday from 10am - 5pm. Check out the schedule, with more movies announced over the coming weeks. All team leaders in attendance will be invited to answer questions from the audience. And, AT&T Audience Choice voting throughout the afternoon will help determine the evening's outcome.

Elfenworks Social Justice Category

Students can create comedies, dramas, or anything else they can imagine, but they're also encouraged to enter the Elfenworks Social Justice Category by creating short movies about hope and solutions for domestic poverty. Winning teams at the national level can earn $20,000 in grants, and the Western Grand Finale will highlight some of the top movies in this category so far.

About Campus MovieFest

Originally created by four students, and now the world's largest student film and music festival, CMF is the only event of its kind to provide Apple laptops, camcorders, AT&T phones, and training all for free to tens of thousands of students around the globe. Students at over 50 colleges and universities have one week to create their own short movies, with each school hosting red carpet finales to showcase its top movies. The best of the best move on to their CMF regional grand finales at the Regency in San Francisco, Atlanta Symphony Hall in Atlanta, or Lincoln Center in New York City. These regional events determine the top student teams that move onto the CMF International Grand Finale on the lot of Paramount Studios in June 2009.

Travel

Attendees are encouraged to fly Virgin America, the official airline of CMF, to San Francisco for the weekend. Participants will not only find cheap fares, but also the best in-flight experience including the chance to see top CMF movies in-flight at 35,000 feet.

Golden Tripod Award

We're thrilled to present Adam Savage, co-host of Discovery Channel's Mythbusters, with the coveted CMF Golden Tripod Award. Adam was selected by CMF participants and staff for his ability to inspire all of us through film, art, special effects, and storytelling, and we look forward to awarding Adam with our highest honor at the CMF Western Regional Grand Finale at the Regency Center.

Guitar HeroŽ III Mobile

One lucky winner will walk away with a Nintendo Wii and Guitar Hero as the AT&T Guitar Hero III Mobile competition culminates. Participants get one last chance to beat the top scores from all of the school events, so stop by the CMF Opening Celebration and Campus MusicFest to test your skills.

Best Use of Mobile
AT&T and CMF provide participating teams with the latest Samsung Blackjack II videophones to keep in touch with with their team members and find cool ways to integrate the technology into their movies. AT&T will announce the three winning teams from among the school nominees, with team leaders of the winning teams taking home new Samsung phones and $250 AT&T gift cards.
