The Elfenworks Social Justice Category Event Details

Take a look at previous winning Elfenworks Social Justice Category movies.

To participate simply create an account here at campusmoviefest.com and click "submit a movie," where you'll have a chance to select the Elfenworks Social Justice category and upload your film. Films submitted by May 1, 2013 will be judged by The Elfenworks Foundation and finalists will be invited to screen at CMF Hollywood, where the winners will be announced. One grand prize winner will received a $10,000 cash prize with smaller cash prizes for runners up and honorable mentions.

Elfenworks Social Justice Category Rules
  1. You must be enrolled as a student at a college or university before the May 1, 2013 deadline.

  2. Your film must be no longer than 5 minutes in length.

  3. Your film must concentrate on one of the 35 Facets of of Poverty and Inequality AND fall within one of the following three categories.

Category 1 - HOPE

Deliver a film which tells the story of hope in the face of poverty, inequality, or other social injustices. Bring a personal tale of triumph in the face of adversity in a way that will open ears, hearts and minds.

Category 2 - RIPPLE MAKERS

Deliver a film which brings home the story of someone or some group that, unwilling to be overcome by the problem, tackles it. Tell the tale of visionaries who are doing something to create a positive change.

Category 3 - HORROR

Deliver a film which brings home the horror of a social injustice and thus brings us face to face with our unwillingness to see poverty, inequality or any other social injustice. We're throwing down the gauntlet for you to explore the concept of how fear makes us blind to realities, possibilities and hope.

A note on quality and content:

We want you to let your imagination soar and think of artistic and creative ways to portray your message. Be sure to think of your audience and how you can make an impact to the viewers of your movie to educate and inspire action. Be sure to pay special attention to the quality of your film especially capturing quality audio and lighting. As always Elfenworks and CMF this year and in future years reserve the right to postpone the deadline if nothing of the level of previous years is submitted.
