Special thanks to all the UCLA participants during this year's Campus MovieFest event! The student, staff, and faculty judges selected their picks that were shown at the Ackerman Ballroom and that earned Best Picture, Best Comedy, and Best Drama honors. Your text votes decided the winner of the AT&T Wild Card, so "Junkie's Song" along with the other award winners will move onto the Western Regional Grand Finale for a chance at huge prizes and exposure.

    For the second year in a row, CMF is proudly supporting The Sparky Awards - an awesome video competition focusing on
    the infinite topic of online information sharing.

    The Internet gives new meaning to the notion that, by sharing ideas, we build a better understanding of the world around us. By participating in CMF, or using Youtube, Facebook, or your own blog, you probably understand the value of sharing information, ideas and knowledge. Sharing can also be a vital tool in helping to address complex problems that challenge society such as global warming, or economic disparity.

    The Sparky Awards challenge you to illustrate, in a short video of two minutes or less, what you see as the value of sharing information. Use your imagination to suggest what good comes from bringing down barriers to the free exchange of information. The winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000, and will be screened at the Campus MovieFest Southern Grand Finale in Spring 2010! • About the Movies
  • You can make a five-minute movie about anything. Featured categories include Best Picture, Best Drama, and Best Comedy . The judges, including students and staff at each participating school, will be focusing on the storytelling and creativity of your movie -- and not just the technical aspects. And this year, we're also proud to offer a social justice category brought to you by the Elfenworks Foundation. Find out more about the opportunity to make a movie to make a difference, and possibly win a $10,000 grant.
