Xavier Burgin - University of Alabama

Xavier Burgin is a recent graduate of The University of Alabama and in the spring he'll be attending USC's Cinematic Arts Program. As a filmmaker, his aspirations began after he attended The Cannes Film Festival. He was a student across the world in one of the world's largest filmmaking venues. He was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of individuals within the industry. Many students he met during his tenure in Cannes boasted resumes some professionals could not present. The experience was overwhelming and made him realize to progress in this industry he had to take himself seriously even as a college student. He began his first site, Que The Lights, as a means to display his growth as a filmmaker. Now, it’s become a station for any artistic endeavor he pursues. Since it’s inception Xavier has freelanced as a photographer for The New York Times, been featured on Rick Sammon’s Digital Diaries, written for photography tutorial giant, Digital Photography School, been featured on F-Stoppers (along with fellow FMH creator Kevyn Bryant), and won the first ever student 3D film festival with his documentary, Portrait of the Storm: Tuscaloosa, AL.
